How to Address God during Prayer

Address God with the divine quality that you wish to be bestowed upon you, then move into your prayer. As you begin your prayer, address Allah with the names of the divine qualities your hope to receive. For example, address God, “Oh, Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate.” You are recognizing God as merciful and compassionate, addressing God by the very qualities of Allah that you are requesting and hoping to invoke. These are ways of addressing Allah to acknowledge the greatness of Allah. Everything you are looking for in truth can only come from God.
