“Sound is the future medicine.” – Yuval Ron

From November 2022 to March 2023, the University of Sufism partnered with Yuval Ron to offer a beautiful new series, “Healing Sounds of the Wisdom Traditions.” In this unique 13-week program, student experienced the healing power of sacred sound from spiritual traditions around the world. From the melodic instruments of the Ancient East to the cutting-edge, science-backed sounds of the modern era, each week was an exciting immersion into these artful healing practices.

Our guide on this musical journey was was Yuval Ron: world-renowned musician, award-winning composer and author, peace activist, and record producer. Yuval took us on a fascinating journey into numerous ancient traditions—including Sufism, Kabbala, and Nada Yoga—and illuminated how these lineages used music, chanting, movement, and meditation to instill peace and bring about healing. The lessons were highly experiential, and often deeply ecstatic!
