Principles of Peacemaking in Sufism

Apr 6, 2016 | Sufism

Recently, Nura Laird, our UOS Dean of Faculty and Chair of the Department of Peacemaking, was interviewed on a KWMR radio program called Pieces of Peace.

When I heard the interview, I was blown away by how eloquently she explained the Sufi Principles of Peacemaking which are the underpinnings of the Peacemaking program that she and Dr. John Abd al-Qadr Davies teach at UOS.

Nura also gives a beautiful explanation of the mystical dimensions of Sufism, and she talks about another of her passions, children and education.

This interview is well worth the time to listen, and it’s a message worth sharing. We invite you to do both.

Nura’s depth, sincerity and passion truly convey the beauty of the teachings offered at UOS. It reminds me of how blessed we are by what our guide, Sidi, brought to us to share with the world.

We hope this fills your heart with inspiration.

Have a beautiful weekend.

Blessings and gratitude for you!
