A 12-Session Telecourse

Dr. Rosina-Fawzia Al-Rawi Al-Rifai, an author and spiritual teacher who has lived with and studied with Shaykh Sidi Muhammad al-Jamal for many years and deeply embodies his teachings, will be teaching a 12-session telecourse for USHS on the Divine Names.

The English translation of her latest book, The 99 Healing Names of the One Love, will be released in fall 2014, and the course will draw on the material in the book.

Students will delve deeply into:

  • The deeper meaning of each Divine name
  • What to do with this knowledge
  • How to use each quality to develop a deeper connection with the Divine
  • Groups of qualities that can be used for healing ailments of the body and soul

Here’s how Fawzia describes the value of this work:

The divine names and qualities are like rivers of love, each showing and
activating a different aspect in us, calling us to flow towards the wisdom
and knowledge that Allah has laid in us, so that we become present to the
Divine center, able to stand up, accepting our individual destiny and
walking the path of Allah’s community of lover and beloveds.

These sessions are a deepening into the understanding and use of the Divine names for:

  • Personal growth
  • Reaching life goals
  • Shifting your attitude toward the seen and the unseen worlds
  • Healing of wounds: thoughts, images and feelings and knowledge–in other words, tools to walk the path of the All-merciful

The curriculum will include breathing and meditation exercises for an individual experience with each quality.

This is a college-level course, so expect to do some homework and be fully engaged and present during the sessions. The classes will be pre-recorded, and students can email questions to the teacher, who will field them on future sessions. Each session will build on the one before, so be sure to catch up before moving on to the next class session.
