Expanding Our Perceptions
with Amany Shalaby

ABOUT THIS COURSE:
Grow into new places of connection with the Divine in this webinar led by Amany Shalaby. The class will be taught entirely in English. No previous knowledge of Islam or Arabic is needed so non-Muslims are welcome, too. This course will be divided into six modules. Each module consists of two webinars, including teaching that integrates Qur’anic ayat and scientific knowledge and offering some specific invocations, (du`a’) and dhikr that may grant us the expansion we are seeking by Allah’s Permission.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:

Module One: Expanding Our Sensual Perception- learning how to raise our sensual awareness of Allah’s created abundance in the physical world around us and becoming conscious of unity between all existents with the goal of cultivating qualities such as trust, gratitude and love.

Module Two: Expanding Our Emotional Perception- learning how to expand our feelings and look as their deeper meanings and purposes, as well as expanding our empathy to feel others and to feel the creation around us with the goal of cultivating qualities such as authenticity, empathy, forgiveness and compassion.

Module Three: Expanding Our Intellectual Perception- learning about expanding our contemplative capacity and all the different intellectual tools Allah given us with the goal of cultivating qualities such rational maturity, love for knowledge, and wisdom.

Module Four: Expanding Our Imagination-learning how to use the faculty of imagination to cultivate qualities such as creativity, joy and connection with the spiritual realm.

Module Five: Expanding Our Intuition-learning how to know by presence and listen to our subtle intuition and become aware of Allah’s warnings, and inspirations.

Module Six: The Integrated Self (an-Nafs al-Kamilah)-learning how to integrate our God-given faculties to attain knowledge of ourselves and so knowledge of our Masterful Nurturer.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR:

 Amany Shalaby, PhD graduated as an electric engineer from`Ein Shams University, Cairo, Egypt 1985. She obtained her Post Graduate Diploma in Islamic Studies from Islamic College of Advancing Studies, Middlesex University, London, UK in 2002 and her Master’s degree in Comparative Philosophy of Religions in 2014 from the Islamic College of Advancing Studies, Middlesex University, London, UK.

Amany works as a translator of Islamic books and teaches in diverse study circles across the states on Islamic spirituality. Amany is the author of The Essence of Creation and the forth-coming book of poetry, Hidden Pearls.

She is a co-founder of Radiant Hands Inc., an organization that helps single mothers in need, and Nur Corner Institute.
