Healing Through Sound

A Course in Five Modules with Yuval Ron

Learn to rejuvenate, achieve inner peace, and foster deep connections through five sound healing courses

The human body has its own music, and its own rhythms. We live by the heartbeat, and by the breath. We follow the circadian rhythm—the movement of sleeping and waking. Even our cells have rhythm—the elegant dance of our physiology.

Sound and music have a profound effect on the rhythms and movements of the human body. Vibrations from musical instruments, singing bowls, gongs, and tuning forks can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and promote deep relaxation. Sound can even activate the parasympathetic nervous system, moving us from a state of agitation to a state of peace and healing.

The University of Sufism is very excited to offer Healing Through Sound—a new, unique course in five modules taught by award-winning sound therapist and master musician Yuval Ron.

Yuval has more than 30 years of experience in musical composition, neuroscientific research, and healing with sound and music. It is this incredibly deep well of knowledge that informs the Healing Through Sound curriculum.

Module 5: Neuroscience Confirmations of Healing with Sacred Sound

Step into the intersection of ancient wisdom and modern science, where spirituality and neuroscience come together to reveal the profound impact of sacred sound on the mind, body, and soul.

For thousands of years, sound has been used as a healing tool, resonating through biblical Israel, the Ottoman Empire, and beyond. Now, modern research is uncovering what mystics have long known—sacred sound alters consciousness, enhances well-being, and brings profound healing.

In this session, you’ll explore how music and sacred frequencies shape the brain, emotions, and overall health, bridging the gap between spiritual practice and scientific validation.

Neuroscience & Music Therapy – Gain an understanding of cutting-edge discoveries in brain research that confirm the power of sacred sound to enhance memory, regulate emotions, and support cognitive health.

Sacred Sound & Brain Health – Learn how specific frequencies, rhythms, and melodies promote deep relaxation, reduce stress, and foster mental clarity.

Integrating Science & Spirituality – Discover ways to apply scientifically validated sound healing techniques to your own practice, using music as a powerful tool for healing, emotional balance, and spiritual awakening.

By weaving together the ancient art of sacred sound with the latest scientific discoveries, this session offers a profound understanding of sound as a gateway to healing, transformation, and divine connection.

Module 3: Early Christian Sacred Music and Sound Healing

In the first centuries of Christianity, sacred sound played a profound role in devotion, healing, and divine connection. Rooted in the traditions of the Coptic, Maronite, and Armenian faiths, the sacred chants and meditative practices of early Christianity harmonized the soul, deepened compassion, and strengthened the connection to the Divine.

In this module, you’ll explore the mystical depth of these ancient Christian traditions and their deep ties to Hebrew spiritual practices. Through sacred sound, you’ll uncover a profound way to foster introspection, connect with saints and ancestors, and experience divine love.

What You’ll Experience

Sacred Chants & Prayers – Learn early Christian chants from the Middle East, designed to awaken forgiveness, love, and unity with all beings.

Sound as a Pathway to Inner Peace – Discover how the sacred sound traditions of early Christianity fostered deep reflection, healing, and connection with the Divine.
