I just got off the phone with Dr. John Abd al-Qadr Davies, faculty and co-founder of the Masters in Peacemaking Program here at the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism.
In the midst of his busy schedule, he has agreed to join us for a prayer call today, Inauguration Day in the US.
Abd al-Qadr is super-busy, in the middle teaching of a 3-week intensive program at the University of Maryland on Multitrack Diplomacy: Transforming Violent Conflict. He had a combination of professionals and graduate students from 10 different countries in his program.
And Dr. Davies is taking time out to be with us on this special day, to offer words of wisdom, peace and healing.
He reminded me today:
“It’s important to come together, for us to remain positive and look for the opportunities for positive change that come when so many boundaries are being broken. It is important that we not allow ourselves to be pulled into the dynamics of negativity and fear.”
Dr. Abd al-Qadr Davies will be saying a few words about how we can respond for the good of our country and our people. Then we will engage in an ancient Sufi meditation practice called Remembrance.
You are invited join us in person for a half-hour call.
It’s TODAY, FRIDAY, JANUARY 20, 2017
at 1:00 PM US Eastern / 10:00 AM US Pacific
Abd-al-Qadr has a wealth of experience directly mediating conflict between countries and individuals. He has led peace initiatives in over 30 countries around the world, co-developed conflict and genocide early warning systems for the US government and international coalitions, and trained UN peace keepers from many countries.
He also mediates conflicts between couples and within communities, organizations and families and leads retreats and workshops for those seeking peace and reconciliation at all levels of life.
He lives his mission for peace in all areas of his life. He is truly a gem to have teachings at our University.
We hope you’ll join us in prayer today.
If you are not available at the time, a replay will be available here after the event. You are welcome to attend and to share this information with friends as well.
Event has ended:
May Allah bless you and your loved ones, keep you safe and near to Him.
With love and gratitude,
Mastura Graugnard on behalf of all your friends and family at USHS
