The Long Journey Into Yourself

Oct 20, 2016 | Academic Programs

And you?

When will you begin that long journey into yourself?

~ Jalal id-din Rumi

It’s that time of year again.  A new group of students will begin their Masters of Divinity studies in just 1 week from tomorrow.

The Masters program provides a unique experience that guides students into that long journey through the heart to fall in love with God, to fall into the vast ocean of longing to become one with the Ocean Itself.

We welcome this new class with open hearts and open arms.

Year 1 of the Fall 2016 class will be anchored by Dr. Wadude John Laird, M.D., past President of the UOS, long-time faculty member and student of Sufism for over 40 years.

If you haven’t met Dr. Wadude, you are welcome to watch this webinar he gave just last week on Living a Life of Divine Guidance.  If you have met Dr. Wadude, you’ll especially want to check this out.

We are truly blessed to have Dr. Wadude Laird, M.D., as the anchor teacher for this group.  His experience, deep sincerity and dedication to truth lend to his knowledge of Sufism and Spiritual Healing.

Early in the movement, Dr. Laird noted that “body-mind-spirit” medicine generally lacked deeper understanding of spiritual transformation.  In early 1980’s, he organized several major conferences exploring scientific and spiritual perspectives on healing. He founded the Great Smokies Medical Center and co-founded the Great Smokies Diagnostic Lab to expand innovative and comprehensive patient care options.

Dr. Laird has played a leading role in shaping academic and clinical instruction on the application of the classical Sufi perspectives. He has provided personal healing sessions to thousands of people with a wide variety of physical, emotional and spiritual concerns.  He has taught these approaches to several thousand people in the past twenty years, and is widely recognized as a sincere, engaging, fun and uniquely effective teacher.

Please join us in welcoming the new students to the University.

May God’s peace and blessings be with each and every one of you with every step of your journey!

With love and gratitude,

Mastura Graugnard on behalf of all your friends and family at UOS
